Energy, water and cost savings opportunites

Many of our businesses use water in their processes and may benefit from this program. Plesae read the information below.

Making a Splash: Innovative Program for Energy, Water, and Cost Savings Returns to Minnesota
Spread the word: Help hospitals, schools, restaurants, and cities save energy, thousands of gallons of water, and hundreds of dollars, with potential 1-2 month paybacks
Water Saving Bulk Buy Program

Back by popular demand: Special bulk-rate prices on efficiency upgrades to pre-rinse spray valves and faucet aerators!

What are they, you ask? Pre-rinse spray valves remove food before dishes are placed in the dishwasher or sanitizer, and faucet aerators screw on to the end of faucets to regulate the flow of water.

How much can you save? Average hot water users can save 35,000 gallons of water and $475 a year for each spray valve replaced, and 21,000 gallons of water and $180 a year for each faucet aerator.

What’s the discount? Our special bulk-rate discount through Niagara Conservation is 60% off spray valves (now $28; typically $68) and 75% off faucet aerators (now $0.50; typically $2).

Want to save even more? Several utilities in Minnesota offer rebates for pre-rinse spray valves, reducing the equipment cost by up to half!

What are people saying? "I saw a big difference in the water amount that was used with my old spray valve and realized that I don’t need a lot of water. I need good water pressure. The new spray valve has great pressure and gets the job done!" Oscar Reyes, Las Mojarras

What were the results in 2011?
Energy saved: 80,000 therms per year (could heat 90 MN homes)
Water saved: 13.5 million gallons per year
 Money saved: $180,000 per year
